“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16)

The 1000 Wells Project at Davis is coordinated by a group of students who are responding to God’s call to “loose the chains of injustice” around the world (Isaiah 58: 6) by raising funds and awareness to provide people in Sub-Saharan Africa with clean, sustainable water wells. We care because we believe God is intimately concerned with those suffering under the yoke of injustice.

Our motivation stems from our belief that God loves the entire world; that He sent His one and only son named Jesus down to this earth to live a perfect life among us and to eventually die, taking the place of our sins. Three days later, Jesus rose from the dead, showing His power over death and giving us an opportunity to believe in Him and have eternal life. If there is one thing that people deserve in this world, it is an opportunity to hear this Gospel message and decide for themselves the validity of these claims. Our hope is that by helping to take care of the physical needs of those suffering around the world, they will have a chance to encounter this God that so deeply loves them.

The reason why we want to build wells and provide clean water is because God cares for the physical and spiritual condition of everybody on earth. And so we love these people in sub-Saharan Africa who are suffering because God first loved them. We believe that regardless of religion or gender or ethnicity, every person should have clean water. And so the 1000 Wells Project does not discriminate against anyone on the basis of religion. The money donated to the 1000 Wells Project goes to anyone in need, not just the people who share our similar beliefs.

If you have any questions regarding who receives the aid, please email us at davis1000wells@gmail.com. Or, if you have any questions about this God who sent His Son Jesus to love the whole world, we would love to hear from you as well.
