On Giving
It may be easy to sympathize with the cold, hard facts and try to understand the need for clean water in Africa, but the only way things will truly change is through our financial support. It is only in this way that we can make significant and lasting change. As the saying goes, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:21)

Furthermore, you can rest assured knowing that your money will be well used. Blood:Water mission, our parent organization, is a 501 (c)3 registered non-profit organization. They use the money only for projects that not only build wells but also train the nationals how to find safe drinking water sources, dig the wells, and maintain those wells for years to come. In this way, local people are empowered by the skills they learn, take ownership over the projects they complete ensuring long-lasting care of the water well, and are able to not only dig a well in their community but wells in surrounding communities, effectively multiplying the effect of every dollar donated.

On Volunteering
Now that you know about the amazing impact $1 can have, what will you do? There are a myriad of ways to get involved with the 1000 Wells Project Here at Davis. The goal of the 1000 Wells Project at Davis is to be an intersection between African communities and American communities, between knowing and doing, between those who have the precious gift of clean and safe drinking water and those who do not. In our world where information crosses vast distances in seconds, we are connected in new ways to problems once unheard. But it is in this atmosphere that a new frame of mind must be formed. Knowing about the problems is no longer enough, now is the time to act. The 1000 Wells Project needs dedicated people like you to help with our awareness and fundraising efforts!
